Meet our Reading Ambassadors.

Our Reading Ambassadors help promote reading throughout the school.

Beth enjoys reading Jacquline Wilson books, particularly 'Katy'. She recently met local author Cathy Cassidy and got her to sign a book  mark.

Harry's favourite book is 'Street Cat Named Bob' which is based on real life events. When he was younger he really enjoyed all of the Mr Men series.

Jeevan enjoys reading Michael Morpurgo stories, his favourite is 'Kingdom of the Cloud Forest'. He recently read 'Star Wars Rebels - Jedi Academy' as part of the Big Friendly Read Challenge.

Haile's favourite authors include Roald Dahl, Michael Morpurgo and Enid Blyton. She also enjoys art, her favourite colours are blue, red, purple and pink.

Roald Dahl Centenary Celebrations.

Year 4 were treated to a splendiferous event after school to celebrate Roald Dahl's 100th birthday.  Entrance was by 'Golden Ticket' and proved VERY popular!

Everyone had squiff-whiffling fun taking part in Dahl themed activities, scoffing scrumptious snacks (but no snozzcumbers!) and drinking plenty of frobscottle...

Well done to all those children who took up the challenge and received their certificate.

World Book Day - Thursday 3rd March 2016.

We had a 'Book Focus Fortnight' instead of just one day. All classes took part in various book themed activities at different times during the week, many led by the Reading Ambassadors.

Mrs Venables brought some of her special collection of Rupert Bear books. One is from 1946 and was made with only a paper cover because of rationing.
